Manny Pacquiao Started His Training at GenSan for Pacquiao-Rios Fight

The congressman of Sarangani and popular Filipino boxer, Manny Pacquiao started his training in General Santos City, Philippines. But this does not make Bob Arum to worry for he sees a more focus Pacman in the training in Gensan. Here's a complete news from ABS-CBN regarding this.

MANILA, Philippines – Boxing promoter Bob Arum isn’t worried about Manny Pacquiao losing his focus while spending bulk of his training camp in the Philippines.

The Top Rank Inc. CEO allayed fears of Pacquiao being bothered by fans in the Philippines while preparing for his fight against Brandon Rios.

Arum told Radio Rahim that the Filipino boxer will ditch the high-altitude training in Baguio City for a more quiet camp in General Santos City.

“[In the past] when he's been training in the Philippines, and he trains there in a mountain area, it's a resort area, they don't leave him alone,” explained the boxing promoter.

“When he trains this time, it will be in GenSan where he lives. The local people give him a lot more space since they're more used to him.”

Pacquiao is known to be too friendly and accommodating to his fans that at times they get in the way of his training sessions.

But his promoter said this won’t be a problem anymore when Pacquiao divides his camp between General Santos City and Davao.

Pacquiao’s camp reportedly wanted to concentrate his training in the Philippines as his next bout will take place on November 24 in Macau, which is just over a thousand miles from Manila.

His nutritionist, Nonoy Neri , said the boxer felt that his jogging sessions in Baguio City will be affected by the rainy season which is why he decided to hold camp in General Santos and Davao.

“Kinuwento nga niya na dito raw niya gusto mag-ensayo sa Davao,” said Neri. “Pero gusto rin daw niya mag-training sa GenSan kaya malamang hahatiin namin `yung training camp.”
