After Miguel Cotto's lost against Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao on the 12th round of their match last year, I thought it will be the end of his boxing career and retirement is the only thing that waits for the Puerto Rican boxer. I was wrong! It isn't not the end of the road for the great Puerto Rican boxer but a new beginning for a new fight ahead. He is moving higher than welterweight and going to junior middleweight to fight the undefeated and current champion of the said division, Yuri Foreman. It is said that Top Rank Promotions are just finishing up all the details and will schedule the fight to happen on June 6, 2010 at the Yankee Stadium. A lot of analysts said that it will be too ambitious for them but many fans believe that it will be one of the great fight to watch out.
Yuri Foreman vs. Miguel Cotto should be considered as a fight that boxing enthusiasts should look closely and see if Cotto can still deliver something interesting to us.
How about Pacquiao?
On the other hand, his previous opponent Manny Pacquiao is scheduled to defend his welterweight title against Joshua Clottey on March 13, 2010 at the Cowboys Stadium in Artlington, Texas. Read the Pacquiao vs. Clottey "The Event" blog for more information regarding this fight.
